That's All Folks!
Franz Kafka once said "Don't bend; don't water it down; don't try to make it logical; don't edit your own soul according to the fashion. Rather, follow your most intense obsessions mercilessly". And that's exactly what I did. Four years ago I launched this here videogame blog, Digital Gigolo. It allowed me to indulge my two greatest passions: writing and gaming. It's been a satisfying experience. Digital Gigolo now regularly receives over 14,000 hits a month (and rising).
But I feel it's time to call it a day. Don't get me wrong, I still love gaming. It's just that I've decided to concentrate my efforts elsewhere. I've not been able to fulfil my ambition of becoming a full-time games journalist. I've tried, really tried, but to no avail. I'll still write the occasional freelance piece, but I now see this as a hobby, not a career. And besides, you'll still be able to find me on twitter.
Just wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who took the time to read my stuff. It still feels utterly magical when someone leaves a comment. I shall leave you with my favourite Shigeru Miyamoto quote: "Video games are bad for you? That's what they said about rock-n-roll."

ReplyDeleteSuch a shame. I enjoyed reading your blog for the less generic stuff. Back to the boring news cycle and mundane features on game of the year.

ReplyDeleteDon't go mate !!!
ReplyDeleteWtf don't go! I found your page throw Twitter; (Marcus Beer) it was the dead island one and I don't think I've ever laughed so much at a piece of writing before, I instantly went back to you're main page and started reading older articles you had written and found that they were to the same quality. (if not better) I follow you on twitter the now and 140 characters is not enought for you to express your self about games; so please don't stop! I'm hoping my appeal to you will pay of if not good luck with everything else you do in life( and thanks for the laughs the articals had been hilarious!
